ROAD TRAIN CONCEPT LONGER HEAVIER VEHICLES
As you may know, I have for an umber of years been developing a road train concept, this has been studied by Herriot Watts University in Yorkshire, and a report is due out in February, along with several other concepts of LHV’s.
When I have done demonstrations with this concept to their hauliers, along with other types of LHV’s the feedback from other hauliers is that our concept is the most favoured, as it is 95% standard equipment, simple and without a massive cash outlay or electronics.
I feel that this concept is ideally suited to the night trunking operations, of General Haulage, Pallet Networks and parcel carriers, not for going around country lanes, or even into RDC’s etc. strictly for the operators trunking depot to depot or to pallet network and parcel hubs.
I need to know, if this concept were to be made legal, or even to get official road testing given how many operators would make use of this concept, and how many of these outfits do you think that you would operate.
